SLUM EDUCATION
Freedom can occur only through education
Aim :
“Slum education” refers to the educational challenges and initiatives within informal settlements or slums, where residents often face socio-economic hardships, inadequate infrastructure, and limited access to education.
When working in Schools, we observed Chronic Absenteeism amongst certain Students. On going in-depth by meeting the parents, it came to light that these Children mainly Girls, went with their mothers for Household Chores and so were unable to attend Schools. Boys supported their Fathers in “Laari” Business or any other support required for Financial Income. To carry education to these children who do not go to school or are irregular up pr, we took up Project of Slum Education in Gadapura and Shri Ramnagar, ( from where these Children came to the School) Daily classes were conducted. Lack of space did not stop us, we conducted the classes in Temple. Attending classes made them interested and they also started Learning .
